The Business Side of L. Rochelle

Testimonial:
"Just wanted to let you know what a fabulous article you did. We know you spent many, many hours putting it all together!!! The information is interesting and accurate. We are getting quite a number of calls already from folks who have read it and want to know 'what is this' or 'great article about you.'"

Average rates are subjective to the project: writing, editing, or personalized news release composition and distribution. I guarantee to be reasonable and often lower than average. However, it is difficult to simply "throw out a figure." Even between editing projects for instance, there can be great discrepancies from proofreading to copyediting to content editing and beyond.

Editing rates conform to the specific project and can vary widely depending on genre, complexity, and author skills. Copyediting can be as low as $ .035 per word (approx. 300-350 words per page of average 6 x 9" trade book), while proofreading can be lower yet. Content editing is standard and at a higher rate.

So you can see there are variables. Please call or write--not only will I want to know what and how large your project is, I highly recommend that when considering anyone for your project (especially editing) you request a sample page or two. Most professionals will not balk, if they truly want your business. Some of my published samples are available here ...

Per page and mini-critiques available, as are full book evaluations, reviews, and publishing consultations (specializing in author-originated publishing).

Want an Editing Quote? Here's what I need:
- type of editing desired (if not sure, generalize your needs and I'll help you figure it out!)
- manuscript genre (I do not accept medical or technical; and please query re: historical)
- number of words in project (preferred) and/or expected page count
- if a book, the finished size (6x9", 8 1/2 x11" etc.)
- timeline required (have a deadline? average 60,000 words takes up to 5 weeks, depending on schedule)
- for quickest quote response, submit with a sample chapter or two (please attach file in Word, with 1" margins, double-spaced, maximum 20 pages)
With "I need a quote!" in the Subject Line, Submit your quote today!

Magazine articles and columns negotiable.
Press releases average $150-$500 each, contingent upon subject and whether personalized distribution is included.
Feel free to call/write & ask for more information!

*Trade show and corporate event planning based on a project basis. Includes:
~ Full trade show organization
~ Community benefit events
~ Seminars and Workshops
~ Recommended publicity

I have produced a variety of successful events, including three Write On! writers' conferences and two Budget Bridal Faire trade shows. Corporate trade booth planning has included TV products, books, manufacturing, hospitality industry, and more. Unique insight comes from having worked both sides of events -- as a vendor and as a producer. Throw in a couple of weddings and corporate parties, and you have a well-rounded event planner.

You want your writing right, your news release to make the news, and your event to be memorable, right?
