I am often asked to read my friends' books, their friends' books, and associates' books, and offer my humble opinion as to its salability or simply its entertainment value--so here you go!
For the most, I've read the whole book, but in rare instances I might scan key sections and render an opinion based on my years as an editor. It doesn't take much for me to recognize a good author and a great story (or vice versa); or to peruse a business book and determine its value to the public.
It is my intent to support independent authors with honest praise and constructive criticism, while bringing their titles to readers looking for interesting and compelling books.
All reviews are protected by copyright. If you would like to quote a review, include the full article and credit to: Book Reviews by Rochelle, with link to this page. Anything less than the full review, email for permission with exact quote, and placement. Please feel free to send comments that I will be happy to forward to the authors.
In the essence of full disclosure, I rarely purchase these books--they are submitted by the author or publisher; however, I do not "sell" my reviews. They are given freely. I also review my editing clients' books, which are noted as such.
