Are you anticipating a Thanksgiving gathering mired in devoir? Most often applied to debt, duty, or military, devoir is a terrifically obscure, alternative word for your literary writings. November’s Oldies Song of Note     
While devoir suggests a somber family meal, with manners and attitude in check, sometimes, a little levity is just what is needed to lighten the mood and ensure a good time is had by all. Music is the perfect mood-maker.
      
This month’s Song of Note is for my delightful DJ friend, Bill Gardener. He mentioned it climbing the charts in October, for the Blast from Your Past article, amongst a plethora of truly great songs.

Word Challenge: DEVOIR. When writing fiction, consider that civility and a staid approach can easily serve to set the personality of a character, as you fit devoir into your month of responsible writings and casual conversations.
