Wordplay Wednesday™ July 5, 2017 – Enervate

When the Summer Sun Wants to Vanquish Your Vigor

Many words beginning with the “en” prefix augment something, often positive: encourage, energize, enchant … but we know for every action there is a reaction

ENERVATE (enʹɘr vātʹ) vt. – to deprive of strength, force, vigor; weaken physically, mentally, or morally; devitalize; debilitate. [WW #119]

Hence, my mood this week. July holds so many reasons to feel enervated. Beginning of the month of course, holds much holiday partying. That’ll do it!

By the end of the month we’re feelin’ the heat … does summer sap your vitality? Think about it now and prepare to zap July’s attempt to enervate your energy. Don’t fight it … harness it!

Word Challenge: ENERVATE. Don’t let the heat and doldrums of summer enervate your inner and outer power. Give it some thought and fit enervate into your week of peppy writings.

Write first for yourself … only then can you write for others. (L.Rochelle)
